Senior Manager, Cyber Security Advisory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of Cyber Security Advisors.

• Provide performance management, constructive feedback, mentoring, and support for career development.

• Ensure clients receive strategic security guidance that is proactive and aligned with their business priorities and risk profiles.

• Serve as a senior escalation point for intricate customer issues, advisory concerns, and challenges in service delivery.

• Assist with executive business reviews, discussions on customer health, renewal planning, and strategic account engagements.

• Enhance customer satisfaction, retention, adoption, and realization of long-term value.

• Oversee team capacity, balance workloads, customer coverage, and prioritize activities across the advisory portfolio.

• Implement consistent advisory methodologies, engagement standards, documentation practices, and reporting protocols.

• Track customer health indicators, trends in service delivery, risks, and operational metrics.

• Facilitate process improvements that bolster team effectiveness, scalability, and customer impact.

• Advise team members on complex security challenges, strategies for threat detection, incident response, and the maturity of security operations.

• Encourage the adoption and optimization of Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Security services, and KQL.

• Contribute to advisory playbooks, reusable guidance for customers, best practices, and initiatives for service improvement.

• Collaborate with teams in Sales, Customer Success, Security Operations, Product, and Engineering.

• Relay customer feedback, recurring themes, risks, and opportunities for product or service enhancements to leadership.

• Assist in account planning, discussions for expansion, and preparation for renewals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in cyber security, encompassing advisory, consulting, security operations, incident response, or managed security services.

• More than 3 years of leadership experience managing teams of technical, advisory, consulting, or customer-facing security professionals.

• Proven ability to coach teams, manage performance, develop talent, and foster accountability.

• Strong skills in customer engagement, including managing escalations, executive discussions, and strategic customer interactions.

• Comprehensive understanding of security operations, threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, risk management, and security frameworks.

• Exceptional communication, prioritization, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience utilizing operational metrics, customer health data, and insights from service delivery to enhance team performance and customer results.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Security services, and Kusto Query Language (KQL).

• Familiarity with managed detection and response, threat detection engineering, incident response workflows, SIEM/SOAR concepts, and security for endpoints, identities, and cloud environments.

• Capability to convert technical security concepts into straightforward business recommendations.

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Microsoft Security, or similar are advantageous.

• Experience in security advisory, consulting, customer success, or managed security services environments is a plus.

• Experience working with enterprise and mid-market customers in complex security environments is a plus.

• Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks is a plus.

• Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies is a plus.
