This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead the project engineering team in establishing and reviewing technical requirements for Duck Creek applications, encompassing security, integration, performance, quality, and operational aspects.

• Act as the main point of contact and escalation for engineering, customization, and customer-related issues.

• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of software upgrades while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

• Provide technical direction on coding, testing, deployment, and industry best practices.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and oversee stakeholder communications and expectations.

• Evaluate release notes and code modifications to determine the impact of upgrades on existing applications.

• Troubleshoot custom and base code, offering workarounds or solutions to implementation teams and clients.

• Utilize Duck Creek upgrade tools to perform differential analyses and create low-impact upgrade paths.

• Identify opportunities for automation and develop tools for quicker and more efficient upgrades.

• Engage with customer counterparts to triage issues and provide solutions.

• Review team outputs, mentor team members, and share expertise.

• Recognize upgrade risks, communicate schedule impacts, and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with customers on remediation efforts prior to upgrades.

• Design and implement deployment plans that reduce downtime and facilitate smooth transitions into production.

• Provide post-deployment support and troubleshooting assistance.

• Assess deployment outcomes and introduce process enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience in network administration, programming, or information systems.

• At least 6 years of professional experience in software development.

• Experience in roles that involve customer interaction.

• Proven experience in team management and oversight of direct-report performance.

• In-depth knowledge of the Duck Creek product suite and its technical components.

• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and employee performance management.

• Extensive professional expertise in C#, SQL, Visual Studio, Microsoft Foundation technologies, Windows Server 2003/2008 administration and configuration, JavaScript, XSLT, XML, HTML, CSS, and AJAX.

• Significant professional experience with .NET solutions, SQL, and relational database design.

• Familiarity with XML and XSL technologies.

• Experience with Generative AI and AI-driven development tools like GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot.

• Ability to assess, implement, and oversee AI-driven automation while upholding security, quality, and compliance standards.

• Knowledge of or experience with P&C insurance software applications.

• Awareness of the software development life cycle related to P&C insurance software.

• Experience with systems integration, including Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, and third-party systems.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Capacity to work collaboratively in teams and foster positive relationships.

• Ability to analyze complex situations, identify challenges, and devise solutions.

• Willingness to take on responsibility and achieve significant outcomes.

• Adaptability to change, quick learning abilities, and openness to new technologies.

• Availability for travel of 0–25%.

• Legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
