This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead global public relations, executive communications, and advocacy communication strategies that align with ISC2’s mission and objectives.
• Direct global media relations, encompassing media outreach, spokesperson preparation, press materials, agency management, and performance reporting.
• Provide counsel to senior leaders on messaging, executive visibility, and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee and nurture a team of communications and public relations professionals.
• Facilitate ISC2 governance communications, which include Board communications, annual director elections, membership meetings, and annual report initiatives.
• Create and uphold corporate messaging tailored to various audiences, channels, and regions.
• Supervise speeches, presentations, talking points, bylined articles, and thought leadership content.
• Collaborate across the organization on announcements, campaigns, advocacy and research initiatives, events, and strategic programs.
• Identify communication opportunities and reputational risks; formulate response strategies and crisis communication plans.
• Cultivate relationships with media, industry influencers, and external stakeholders.
• Track industry trends, emerging issues, and best practices.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of communications and public relations programs.
• Mentor and oversee at least two team members while fostering an inclusive culture.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a Public Relations or Communications position, whether in a corporate setting, membership association, or PR/PA agency.
• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and familiarity with the cybersecurity media landscape.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and editorial communication skills.
• Proven ability to comprehend commercial activities within an organization and effectively communicate them to public audiences.
• Excellent copywriting skills and a versatile writing style suitable for diverse audiences and multiple channels.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), as well as internet and web applications/navigation.
• Knowledge of AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.
• Capability to manage multiple assignments and large projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Skill in advising senior executives while maintaining boundaries to avoid conflict.
• Proactive in identifying opportunities and executing solutions.
• Willingness to work standard business hours and extended hours when necessary.
• This position is not available to residents of California.
