This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Drive the growth and performance of DCR’s Clinical Trials business by developing and supporting new business initiatives.
• Discover and nurture new business prospects by engaging with potential sponsors and CRO partners.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and operational teams to grasp potential clients’ requirements and align them with DCR’s services.
• Enhance lead generation through methods such as cold calling, email outreach, business-to-business selling, and more.
• Manage incoming leads throughout the sales cycle, including RFPs, budget discussions, and RFIs.
• Delegate tasks and follow-up responsibilities to internal team members.
• Meet revenue and sales targets through proactive communication and management of sales prospects.
• Keep Salesforce.com updated with information for business development pipeline assessments and leadership reports.
• Participate in conferences and networking events to establish industry connections and stay informed about current trends.
• Execute the strategic business development plan to sustain and enhance key client relationships.
• Explore new markets and growth opportunities with sponsors and partner CROs.
• Recommend solutions to client challenges in collaboration with senior leadership and operational teams.
• Supervise the strategic management of study and site feasibility using data-driven insights and cross-departmental collaboration.
• Ensure prompt responses to RFPs, RFIs, and preliminary budget inquiries.
• Verify that leads and active opportunities are accurate and updated in Salesforce.com for reporting purposes.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar commercial position within healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or a related sector.
• At least 4 years of relevant business development experience in the healthcare/life sciences field and/or contract research organization is required.
• Proven experience in developing client relationships, identifying new business prospects, and driving revenue growth.
• A successful history of sales and business development activities in a complex, highly matrixed organization.
• Established record of generating sales and building revenue in the clinical trial sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently and under pressure with minimal oversight.
• Strong presentation skills with the capability to effectively communicate service features and benefits to clients.
• Regular travel, averaging 10%, equating to approximately 2 to 3 days monthly.
• 1–2 overnight trips per month; occasional Sunday travel may be necessary.
• An advanced degree in business or medical/biological sciences is strongly preferred.
