Senior Manager, Automated Scoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of researchers focused on data design and analytical initiatives for automated scoring products.

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to address their requirements.

• Deliver presentations at planning and technical advisory sessions.

• Prepare technical documents and contribute to scholarly publications.

• Participate in the improvement of existing products and the creation of new offerings.

• Work alongside machine learning team leaders to develop automated scoring solutions.

• Foster innovation in natural language applications aimed at enhancing educational outcomes.

• Facilitate automated scoring for large-scale assessment initiatives, crisis alert systems, and feedback mechanisms in student writing.

• Contribute to the research and development agenda, establishing priorities for the automated scoring team.

• Lead and mentor a team of scientists.

• Design and execute studies to gather, score, model, and analyze results.

• Engage in applied research and represent CAI's leadership through published works.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ph.D. in psychometrics/measurement, natural language processing (NLP), statistics, or a related computational field.

• Over 10 years of professional experience in K-12 assessment.

• More than 8 years of experience collaborating with teams of software developers, NLP experts, and data scientists.

• Proven experience in client-facing roles, including making presentations.

• Established record of publications in NLP applications within K-12 assessment.

• A reliable cable or fiber-optic broadband internet connection with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload for remote work.

• Active involvement in video interviews and ongoing virtual meetings with the camera on.

• Note-taking tools, reference materials, and AI-powered tools are not permitted during interviews or selection processes unless prior written consent is granted.

• Proficient in working with natural language applications, automated scoring, machine learning, and educational measurement.
