Senior Manager, Applied Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of applied scientists by recruiting, mentoring, providing direction, and fostering professional growth.

• Establish the technical and scientific standards by designing architectures, assessing designs and evaluations, and addressing complex challenges directly.

• Take full ownership of AI system readiness, covering everything from problem framing to evaluation, error analysis, efficacy studies, and ongoing monitoring in production.

• Identify key investment areas in agentic assistants, extensive document review, and analytical systems.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, design, customer-facing teams, and legal experts to transition ideas from proof of concept to large-scale production.

• Translate intricate technical details into actionable decisions for teams, leadership, and clients.

• Represent Relativity at industry conferences, events, and client engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's or PhD in computer science or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in applied AI/ML.

• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.

• Extensive experience in applied AI/ML and deployment engineering.

• Proven track record in developing production-ready AI systems and managing their entire lifecycle.

• Proficiency in modern generative AI as part of comprehensive systems.

• Strong background in machine learning, data comprehension, evaluation, error analysis, and statistical reasoning.

• Solid software engineering judgment and programming capabilities.

• Ownership mentality that extends beyond the immediate team.
