📋 Description

• Take ownership of the monthly and quarterly closing processes across various entities, ensuring that all closing activities are completed punctually, reconciliations are thoroughly reviewed and substantiated, and results are documented in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

• Direct the comprehensive execution and review of the close process across critical GL areas, including cash and treasury, intercompany transactions, software capitalization, leases, as well as associated accruals and reclassifications.

• Manage and oversee the FloQast close checklist, which includes task assignments, daily status meetings, issue escalation, and final approvals.

• Review journal entries, encompassing recurring entries, accruals, reclassifications, and manual entries, ensuring their completeness, accuracy, and proper support within NetSuite.

• Supervise balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis, investigate variances in key accounts, and facilitate the timely resolution of reconciling items.

• Oversee bank account reconciliations for operating, collection, sweep, and investment accounts, collaborating with Tax and Treasury on internal cash transfers, funding for international entities, and global cash oversight.

• Lead the capitalization of software and development costs, including the review of capitalization workbooks, accounting conclusions, and associated journal entries.

• Manage lease accounting under ASC 842, including the review of new and modified lease agreements, maintenance of lease schedules, and validation of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.

• Own significant SOX controls during period-end close, treasury, leases, and software capitalization, ensuring that documentation, evidence, and testing support are comprehensive and ready for audits.

• Collaborate with SOX, Internal Audit, and external auditors on control design, walkthroughs, audit testing, remediation tasks, and process enhancements.

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation within NetSuite, FloQast, and related tools to enhance scalability, reduce manual tasks, and improve the quality of the close process.

• Work closely with FP&A, Tax, Supply Chain, Procurement, AP, Payroll, Revenue Accounting, Engineering, and Legal teams to align on accounting treatments, operational changes, and closing deliverables.

• Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of senior accountants and accountants through goal-setting, coaching, prioritizing workloads, and providing performance feedback.

• Assist in strengthening closing processes to ensure scalability, audit readiness, and preparedness for future public company status.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or senior managerial capacity; a combination of public accounting and industry experience is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of month-end and quarter-end closing processes, along with comprehensive day-to-day GL operations across multiple entities.

• CPA designation is preferred.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP is essential.

• Proven experience in a SOX environment, including ownership of key controls and support for both internal and external audits.

• Experience leading accounting operations in critical areas such as cash and treasury, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, software capitalization, leases, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Hands-on experience with a modern ERP system, preferably NetSuite, and close management tools like FloQast.

• Track record of driving measurable process improvements, including acceleration of the close process, enhancement of reconciliation quality, or automation of manual workflows.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to investigate issues, evaluate risks, and provide clear recommendations.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively partner with both finance and non-finance stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in the SaaS sector is required; experience with hardware or technology companies is strongly preferred.

• Experience in supporting a public-company or IPO-readiness environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with tools such as Coupa, Navan, AuditBoard, and Jira is an advantage.

• Flexible working hours are available for candidates located outside the Pacific Time Zone.
