Senior Mainframe CICS Support, Systems Administration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, upgrade, and oversee IBM CICS software, startup procedures, and resource specifications on z/OS.

• Monitor CICS regions, optimize performance, and manage workloads to maintain high availability.

• Address incidents and service interruptions utilizing CICS dumps, traces, logs, and root cause analysis.

• Support application teams with CICS deployments.

• Collaborate with z/OS, DB2, MQ, Storage, Network, and Security teams.

• Administer change controls, documentation, disaster recovery testing, audit compliance, on-call rotations, and task automation.

• Provide support for mission-critical transaction processing systems in a complex 24x7 mainframe setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in supporting IBM CICS Transaction Server environments.

• Solid foundation in z/OS operating systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of CICS architecture, region management, RDO, SIT parameters, and system initialization procedures.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Practical experience in analyzing CICS dumps, traces, logs, and performance metrics in high-volume production settings.

• Familiarity with change, incident, and problem management frameworks in high-availability environments.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• Preferred: Experience with CICS Transaction Server version upgrades, migrations, CICSplex SM, CPSM, and dynamic workload routing.

• Preferred: Expertise in monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting CICS performance using IBM OMEGAMON, CICS PA, MainView, or Sysview.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of DB2, MQ, IMS, and RACF.

• Preferred: Hands-on experience with disaster recovery execution, automated scripting, ITIL processes, and supporting 24x7 globally distributed production environments.
