Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee production pipelines using Databricks Jobs, linking tasks through depends_on and addressing failure modes (ALL_SUCCESS / ALL_DONE).

• Set up and sustain deployments with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs), facilitating transitions from dev → qa → prd targets, including resource/deployment files for each country.

• Handle the lifecycle of models and artifacts within MLflow + Unity Catalog, covering registration, versioning, Champion/Challenger aliases, and rollback procedures.

• Administer compute resources across various workspaces.

• Normalize cost-monitoring tags (FinOps).

• Integrate with AIOps and observability tools.

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the product to troubleshoot runtime incidents effectively.

• Collaborate with development squads and platform teams.

• Ensure production pipelines remain robust across different environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in orchestrating data/ML pipelines on Databricks (Jobs, Workflows, cluster policies).

• Strong CI/CD background (Azure DevOps, gitflow, PRs).

• Proficiency in infrastructure as code using Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs).

• Adherence to code quality standards: black, isort, mypy.

• Advanced skills in Python, SQL, and Delta / Unity Catalog.

• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus.

• Understanding of AI agents and agentic systems is an advantage.

• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools is beneficial.

• Experience in deploying and maintaining Data Science and AI solutions in production settings is preferred.

• Knowledge of job orchestration, computing infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, and maintenance is advantageous.

• Experience with event data, user tracking, and application tagging is a plus.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Business teams is a plus.
