Senior Looker Developer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance Power Digital's enterprise LookML semantic layer, serving as the governed foundation for analytics throughout the organization and for clients.

• Develop scalable and efficient LookML with comprehensive metadata tailored for conversational analytics applications.

• Convert vague stakeholder and client requests into precise technical solutions.

• Design and enhance Looker assets to facilitate scalable, reusable self-service analytics.

• Create data products in Looker for both internal stakeholders and clients, applying principles of data visualization and UI/UX design.

• Collaborate with Analytics Engineering to fine-tune aggregate-layer performance and optimize queries.

• Implement and manage LookML across various Looker instances.

• Maintain the LookML style guide and oversee naming conventions.

• Provide training and support for users transitioning to self-service analytics.

• Mentor junior developers and analysts.

• Utilize AI technologies to enhance team productivity and efficiency.

• Meet established KPIs related to semantic-component reuse, self-service deflection, source-of-truth integrity, product load performance, and code quality.

• Set standards for metric definitions and deliver prioritized Looker data products for both client and internal projects.

• Develop semantic metadata and routing scalability for Conversational Analytics and AI-driven queries.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in collaboration with Analytics Engineering.

• Guide junior developers through PR reviews and pair programming.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

• 4+ years of experience managing the complete lifecycle of production-grade LookML models and data products.

• Advanced SQL skills with a modern cloud data warehouse; experience with Snowflake and BigQuery is preferred.

• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and the fundamentals of data warehousing.

• Experience in an agency setting, particularly with performance marketing analytics.

• Comfortable navigating measurement, channels, and the fast-paced multi-client environment of a digital marketing agency serving eCommerce to B2B clients.

• Proven experience in deploying and governing LookML across multiple Looker instances.

• Familiarity with extensible LookML and modular visualizations in a multi-tenant environment.

• Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.

• Proficient with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.

• Nice-to-have: experience with routing LLM queries.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Conversational Analytics or similar natural-language BI tools.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with Claude Code or other agentic coding tools.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with dbt or comparable analytics engineering practices.
