Senior Looker Developer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance Power Digital's enterprise LookML semantic layer, serving as the governed foundation for analytics throughout the organization and its clients.

• Develop scalable and efficient LookML with comprehensive metadata tailored for conversational analytics applications.

• Convert vague stakeholder and client requests into actionable technical solutions.

• Design and refine Looker assets to enable scalable, reusable self-service analytics.

• Create data products in Looker for internal stakeholders and clients, applying data visualization and UI/UX best practices.

• Architect LookML for scalability and performance, collaborating with Analytics Engineering on aggregate-layer tuning and query optimization.

• Implement and manage LookML deployment across various Looker instances.

• Maintain the LookML style guide and naming conventions.

• Provide training and support for users transitioning to self-service analytics.

• Mentor junior developers and analysts to enhance their skills.

• Utilize AI technologies to increase team efficiency and leverage.

• Establish a definitive source of truth for metric definitions and deliver high-priority Looker data products.

• Develop scalable semantic metadata routing for Conversational Analytics and AI-driven queries.

• Identify and resolve production data-product performance issues in collaboration with Analytics Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in spoken and written English at an advanced level is essential.

• A minimum of 4 years managing the entire lifecycle of production-grade LookML models and data products.

• Advanced SQL expertise with a contemporary cloud data warehouse; experience with Snowflake and BigQuery is preferred.

• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and the fundamentals of data warehousing.

• Experience in an agency setting, particularly in performance marketing analytics.

• Ability to navigate measurement, channels, and the fast-paced multi-client environment of a digital marketing agency catering to eCommerce and B2B clients.

• Experience in deploying and governing LookML across multiple Looker instances.

• Familiarity with extensible LookML and modular visualizations in a multi-tenant context.

• Proven experience in mentoring and cultivating junior team members.

• Knowledge of Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, engaging effectively with engineers and executives.
