Senior Linux Systems Specialist – Tier 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Engage with clients and address their requests effectively

• Manage alerts regarding client systems

• Execute system patching and health assessments for clients

• Carry out deployments following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Facilitate the onboarding of new clients and develop infrastructure enhancement plans

• Record time for all hours worked

• Availability to work some after-hours

• Collaborate with team members and build strong customer relationships

• Innovatively solve technical issues while keeping clients’ business needs in mind

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Linux-based operating systems

• Proficient understanding of networking principles

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and DigitalOcean

• Ability to debug Unix-based operating systems and IP networking at a granular level

• Familiarity with RHEL and Debian-based Linux distributions

• Skills in debugging container-based environments and runtime tools like LXC/D, Docker, and Podman

• Experience with container orchestration systems, including Kubernetes and Docker Swarm

• Knowledge of Linux-based hypervisor systems and tools such as KVM, Xen/XCP-ng, and Proxmox

• Proficient scripting abilities in Bash and Python

• Over 5 years of experience performing relevant duties

• Willingness to work some after-hours

• Minimum of a 2-year technical diploma in Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Computer Science (CS) or higher

• Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada

• Strong communication, organizational, time-management, independent work, and deadline management skills
