Senior Linux Systems Specialist – Tier 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Communicate effectively with clients and address their requests.

• Manage client system alerts efficiently.

• Execute client system patching and conduct health checks.

• Carry out deployments in accordance with established operating procedures.

• Facilitate the onboarding of new clients and develop infrastructure enhancement roadmaps.

• Record time for all hours worked diligently.

• Collaborate with team members to serve the customer base effectively.

• Address technical challenges with a focus on clients’ business needs.

• Foster and maintain strong customer relationships.

• Availability for some after-hours work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of Linux-based operating systems.

• Extensive knowledge of networking concepts.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and DigitalOcean.

• Experience in low-level debugging of Unix-based operating systems and IP networking.

• Background in RHEL and Debian-based Linux distributions.

• Skills in debugging containerized workloads and runtime tools such as LXC/D, Docker, and Podman.

• Knowledge of container orchestration systems like Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.

• Experience with Linux-based hypervisors and associated tools such as KVM, Xen/XCP-ng, and Proxmox.

• Proficient scripting abilities in Bash and Python.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with the listed technologies and responsibilities.

• Willingness to work some after-hours as needed.

• Must possess Canadian citizenship or permanent residency in Canada.

• A 2-year technical diploma (CIS or CS) or higher is highly preferred.
