This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Illuminate various interior and exterior settings under the supervision of the Art Director
• Develop, manage, and enhance post-process effects
• Create and document lighting designs in collaboration with the Art Director and Technical Artists
• Partner with the texturing team to ensure consistent materials across lighting designs
• Collaborate with the design team to enrich gameplay and narrative through effective lighting
• Formulate strategies to optimize performance within technical constraints
• Refine lighting schemes to adhere to performance criteria
• Produce documentation and tutorials for technical methodologies
• Offer and solicit feedback related to the lighting aspect
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting-related issues
• Explore innovative lighting techniques and current industry trends
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
• Over 7 years of experience in game development
• A minimum of 2 released AAA titles on consoles and/or PC
• More than 3 years of experience in a Lighting Artist position
• Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 6 for game production
• Thorough understanding of materials and PBR lighting principles for games
• Capability to present and advocate for work in a group environment
• Knowledge of the technical demands of real-time content development
• Familiarity with game production methodologies
• Strong understanding of both traditional and digital art styles and techniques
