This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
• Develop and oversee the Labor & Employee Relations strategy for designated Diagnostics Operating Companies throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
• Provide guidance to senior HR and business executives regarding labor risks, workforce strategies, organizational changes, and implications for business strategy.
• Manage intricate and high-stakes employee relations issues, including investigations, performance evaluations, conduct issues, grievances, accommodations, and terminations.
• Ensure sound judgment, consistent governance, and compliance with employment laws, collective agreements, company policies, and Danaher standard procedures.
• Take ownership of strategy and implementation for information sharing, consultation, and collective negotiation processes with works councils, trade unions, employee representative organizations, and other social partners.
• Lead negotiation mandates, develop business cases, align stakeholders, mitigate risks, and oversee implementation.
• Provide senior leadership in Labor & Employee Relations for workforce reductions, restructurings, TUPE transfers, reorganizations, site transformations, mergers, acquisitions, integrations, expansions, and closures.
• Identify enterprise dependencies and facilitate coordinated execution across various Operating Companies.
• Build scalable Labor & Employee Relations capabilities through governance, policies, toolkits, and standardized procedures.
• Create preventive risk strategies, mentor HR and leaders, and utilize case trends and business insights to enhance consistency, efficiency, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Operating Company HR teams, People Partners, senior business leaders, employee representative organizations, Danaher’s Global Labor & Employee Relations Center of Excellence, Compliance, Legal, and external legal counsel.
• Bachelor’s degree in law, human resources, or a related field; an L.L.M. or master’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 12 years of progressive experience in labor relations, employee relations, employment law, HR business partnering, or a related human resources field, including managing complex, high-risk, and multi-entity matters.
• Proven expertise in UK employment and labor law, restructuring obligations, TUPE, collective consultation, and requirements for employee representation.
• Demonstrated ability to translate legal obligations into actionable business decisions.
• Proven experience in managing complex employee relations cases, collective workforce reductions, restructurings, harmonization efforts, and significant organizational transformations.
• Experience advising senior leaders and coordinating actions in a matrixed, multinational setting.
• Proven track record in developing negotiation strategies and engaging with works councils, trade unions, or other employee representative organizations.
• Experience in establishing governance, standard processes, and organizational capabilities in Labor & Employee Relations.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Demonstrated experience in employment law or senior Labor & Employee Relations roles in Ireland is an advantage.
• Experience supporting labor and employee relations in manufacturing, diagnostics, life sciences, or other highly regulated sectors is preferred.
• Experience in supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or significant site transformations across multiple businesses or legal entities is advantageous.
