This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• Offer strategic and high-level legal counsel on administrative and management issues.
• Provide guidance on internal governance, institutional policies, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Evaluate, interpret, and enhance personnel policies, procedures, and administrative structures.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with institutional operations, governance, and human resources.
• Conduct legal research and draft opinions, memoranda, briefing notes, and other legal documentation.
• Counsel on staff appeals, disciplinary issues, workplace disputes, and employment-related matters.
• Review and draft a variety of legal documents, policies, guidelines, and internal governance frameworks.
• Assist in investigations, dispute resolution, and conflict management efforts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to incorporate legal considerations into organizational decision-making and policy execution.
• Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory changes and suggest appropriate actions.
• Prepare legal reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior management and governance entities.
• Identify avenues to enhance institutional governance, legal compliance, policies, and procedures.
• Execute other legal advisory and support tasks assigned by the Head of Legal and Principal Legal Advisor.
• Operate under the direction and supervision of the Head of Legal Unit and Principal Legal Advisor.
• Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Law.
• Licensed to practice law in a national jurisdiction.
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible legal experience.
• Significant practical and advisory experience in international administrative and employment law.
• Previous experience working with or advising an international or intergovernmental organization.
• In-depth knowledge of international administrative jurisprudence.
• Practical experience with legal proceedings before international administrative tribunals or dispute resolution bodies.
• Professional fluency in both written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in additional languages such as Arabic or French is advantageous.
• Outstanding analytical, drafting, and communication abilities.
• Capability to advise senior leadership and handle sensitive legal issues with discretion and sound judgment.
• Willingness to work outside regular business hours, including weekends, as necessary.
• Capability to travel for duty to The Hague and other locations.
• Eligibility to travel to and enter the Netherlands without needing sponsorship or immigration assistance from ICMP.
• Responsible for obtaining and sustaining the necessary visas, permits, or travel authorizations.
• Applications must be submitted in English.
• Fixed-term, part-time consultancy arrangement.
• Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Remote working opportunity.
• Duty travel to The Hague and other required locations.

• Anticipated duration of the consultancy roster is two years (from 1 September 2026 to 1 September 2028).
