Senior Legal Counsel – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate commercial issues, encompassing significant contracts and crucial negotiations.

• Offer expert advice on intellectual property, regulatory adherence, and corporate governance.

• Act as a primary point of contact for everyday legal inquiries.

• Provide education to the business on optimal legal practices.

• Collaborate closely with the Head of Legal to facilitate responsible scaling and growth.

• Work together on the legal team's objectives, priorities, and strategic direction.

• Assess contracts and provide compliance guidance for new product launches.

• Mentor junior attorneys and assist in their professional advancement.

• Simplify intricate legal concepts into clear, actionable advice for marketing and operations teams.

• Investigate and adopt legal technology and processes to enhance efficiency.

• Negotiate essential partnerships and achieve favorable results.

• Keep track of global legal changes and prepare the business for forthcoming developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of Post-Admission Experience (PAE).

• Over 10 years of PAE and in-house experience preferred.

• Strong skills in strategic planning and collaboration.

• Capability to influence stakeholders and build solid relationships.

• Proficiency in project management, including handling multiple legal projects.

• Ability to promote collaboration, give constructive feedback, and manage difficult discussions.

• Focus on measurable results and process enhancement.

• Skill in conveying complex legal information clearly to non-legal audiences.

• Excellent negotiation skills along with strong technical legal abilities.

• Capacity to manage complex commercial legal issues.

• Ability to offer commercially astute, proactive legal advice.

• Dedication to ongoing education and staying informed on legal developments.

• Willingness to mentor junior team members and educate the wider business on legal matters.
