📋 Description

• Advise IonQ's product and research teams throughout the entire product lifecycle

• Offer legal counsel on significant transactions and partnerships

• Draft, negotiate, and finalize strategic partnerships, licensing agreements, joint development, and supply and manufacturing contracts

• Develop playbooks, processes, and frameworks for an efficient product legal function

• Collaborate with product, research, engineering, finance, privacy, compliance, trade, external counsel, and other stakeholders

• Convert intricate legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal professionals

• Interpret product, engineering, and business strategies into terms that refine legal advice and priorities

• Report to the Head of Product Legal

⛳️ Requirements

• J.D. from a recognized law school

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, or eligibility for in-house/registered counsel status in the state of employment

• 8+ years of relevant experience in a prominent law firm and/or an in-house legal department

• Significant experience in advising on strategic partnerships related to the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of technology products, both domestically and internationally

• Demonstrated history of drafting, negotiating, and executing complex technology transactions that directly impact business or product strategy

• Adaptability across product and transactional issues

• Sound judgment to provide confident advice in uncertain situations and readiness to tackle innovative legal challenges

• Capability to utilize existing AI tools and contribute to the development of superior ones

• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee, in compliance with export control laws and regulations
