
Senior Legal Counsel – Business Partner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as a business partner to the leadership, sales, project, and operations teams.
• Offer guidance on legal and commercial issues pertaining to the company's activities.
• Provide practical, innovative, and business-focused recommendations.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial, operational, and legal risks.
• Collaborate on projects involving innovation, transformation, and process optimization.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts.
• Assist in strategic negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners across Canada and the United States.
• Enhance contract templates, negotiation processes, and CLM tools.
• Work together on strategic initiatives and growth projects.
• Engage in acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, financing, and corporate reorganizations.
• Lead or oversee due diligence activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage issues assigned to external law firms and oversee budgets.
• Participate in managing litigation, claims, and commercial disputes.
• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate obligations.
• Contribute to the development of legal policies, procedures, training, and best-practice tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Law.
• A degree in Business Administration is advantageous.
• Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or another North American bar.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in business or commercial law, gained in private practice or within a corporate legal department.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus.
• Proficient in written and spoken French and English.
• Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong interest in business issues, negotiation, operations, and strategic projects.
• Comfortable utilizing technology tools.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States.
• Valid passport and driver's license.
• Equivalent experience will also be considered.
