This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of Legal AI systems and their components from requirements gathering and technical design to implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and documentation.
• Design and manage integrations across CLM, CRM, intake, workflow, knowledge, identity, and collaboration systems utilizing APIs, webhooks, queues, automation platforms, and reliable data contracts.
• Convert approved legal terminology, routing rules, risk thresholds, and conditional pathways into maintainable technical controls while ensuring HITL review and escalation remains intact.
• Create governed AI plugins, single-job agents, and automation solutions using sanctioned source content.
• Establish evaluation and quality control measures, including representative test sets, regression checks, schema validation, traceability, and documentation of changes.
• Equip systems for reliability, auditability, cost analysis, and operational telemetry related to models and vendors.
• Implement production controls for SSO/SCIM, service identities, scoped credentials, secrets management, privileged administration, access, logging, monitoring, incident response, and rollback procedures.
• Sustain automated tests, CI/CD workflows, dependency management, release documentation, runbooks, and system diagrams.
• Navigate systems from problem identification through to production, establishing operational ownership, maintenance models, and handoff SLAs.
• Collaborate on workflow and playbook design, ensuring reliability, cost-effectiveness, value signals, usability, adoption, and feedback mechanisms.
• Manage technical delivery for contracting, clickwrap agreements, denied-party screening, privacy operations, and HR contract workflows.
• Enhance self-service and low-touch contracting through systems for contract generation and review.
• Work alongside Legal AI Analysts and Legal stakeholders to troubleshoot system behavior, data quality, usability, and adoption challenges.
• Assist in reporting, data modeling, and operational telemetry covering automation rates, cycle times, ticket reduction, roadmap progress, satisfaction, budgeting, and business impact analysis.
• Maintain the boundary between shared infrastructure and Legal-specific deliverables.
• Mentor colleagues in executing their roles and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
• Operate across multiple time zones and occasionally extend work hours beyond standard times when production demands arise.
• Extensive experience in software, platform, integration, or infrastructure engineering, with independent management of complex production systems or components.
• Proficient with a general-purpose programming language like Python, along with APIs, webhooks, structured data, automation, and troubleshooting systems.
• Familiarity with cloud services, event-driven architectures, queues, containers, source control, CI/CD, automated testing, release controls, and production observability.
• Practical knowledge of AI/LLM systems, including model APIs, retrieval or tool-use patterns, agents, evaluation methods, HITL controls, and the limitations of generative outputs.
• Solid understanding of identity and security principles, encompassing OAuth, service identities, least-privilege access, SSO/SCIM, secrets management, audit logging, and secure operational practices.
• Comprehensive technical ownership experience with CLM, CRM, workflow, service-desk, spend-management, repository, or related operational platforms.
• Ability to translate legal, contractual, compliance, and policy requirements into workflows, fields, conditions, repositories, technical controls, and verifiable evidence.
• Skill in investigating vague problems, prioritizing multiple initiatives, and transforming partially defined operational needs into deployable, maintainable outputs with minimal daily oversight.
• Exceptional communication and change management skills, engaging effectively with engineers, lawyers, analysts, security partners, finance stakeholders, People teams, and business system owners.
• Background in AI governance, privacy, information governance, or legal knowledge systems.
• Proficient with reporting, metrics, dashboards, and BI-related outputs.
• Experience with AWS serverless technologies, containerized workloads, GitHub Actions, MCP or other tool integrations, and production AI evaluation is a significant advantage.
• Capability to collaborate effectively within a remote-first organization and across different time zones, including occasional work outside regular hours when production needs necessitate it.
