Director of Platform Security Engineering

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a robust platform security vision that aligns with business goals and risk management priorities.

• Create long-term security roadmaps that foster product innovation and facilitate scalable growth.

• Promote security as a catalyst for progress rather than an obstacle.

• Take ownership of the security posture for cloud-native platforms, services, data, and infrastructure.

• Enhance security architecture, controls, and operational resilience.

• Assess emerging technologies and adopt practices that bolster security effectiveness.

• Embed security practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Advise engineering teams on secure design, threat assessment, testing, validation, and deployment.

• Ensure the consistent application of secure coding principles and security standards.

• Collaborate with professional services and engineering teams on secure software development and maintenance.

• Create repeatable security frameworks for both internal and customer-facing solutions.

• Develop security metrics, reporting frameworks, and executive dashboards.

• Leverage data-driven insights to evaluate risk, enhance controls, and showcase program effectiveness.

• Provide leadership during security incidents and emerging threats.

• Promote proactive risk identification, mitigation, learning, and readiness.

• Recruit, mentor, and empower security and engineering professionals.

• Encourage collaboration, accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and a high-performing culture.

• Proven experience leading platform, application, or product security programs in complex technology landscapes.

• Extensive background in integrating security practices into modern software delivery and engineering workflows.

• Profound knowledge of cloud-native architectures, secure development methodologies, and DevOps operational models.

• Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize security tools across application, infrastructure, and cloud settings.

• Strong understanding of threat modeling, vulnerability management, security testing, and secure software engineering principles.

• Experience in utilizing security analytics, operational metrics, and risk-based decision-making to drive enhancements.

• Outstanding communication skills with the capability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders.

• Collaborative leadership approach with a commitment to mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

• Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment while balancing strategic vision with operational execution.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

• Valid authorization to work in the United States.
