Senior Lawyer – Data Protection, Digital Law, Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Act as a DPO as a Service and provide assistance to DPOs at client organizations

• Address intricate inquiries from privacy teams

• Oversee responses to security incidents involving personal data

• Evaluate incidents, offer legal containment strategies, and assess risks, including notifications to the ANPD and affected data subjects

• Prepare legal opinions on data protection, legal bases, international data transfers, sensitive data, and emerging technologies

• Conduct comparative assessments of the GDPR and data protection laws in Latin America

• Assist legal and privacy departments at companies with operations in LATAM and internationally

• Engage in artificial intelligence governance, including risk evaluations, regulatory adherence, and program development

• Draft and review policies, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), contractual clauses, and privacy documentation

• Aid in risk assessments, internal investigations, and integrity programs

• Facilitate the integration of Privacy and Compliance practices

• Gradually enhance Compliance expertise with support from the team

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in law

• Active membership with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)

• Demonstrated and primarily focused experience in Data Protection, including hands-on work on complex issues

• Understanding of the GDPR and awareness of the global privacy regulatory landscape

• Strong foundation or advanced knowledge in Compliance

• Managerial profile with the capability to lead clients and projects independently and ambitiously

• Proficiency in English for work in international environments

• Privacy certifications, a postgraduate degree in Data Protection or Digital Law, and experience in AI governance are advantageous

• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
