Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer – Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to customers on strategies related to Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and platform engineering.

• Assess requirements and design contemporary developer and container platforms.

• Architect, design, and deploy Kubernetes environments in cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premises settings.

• Facilitate workshops, assessments, and discussions on technical strategies.

• Introduce concepts of DevSecOps, GitOps, and automation.

• Assist with the migration to Kubernetes and the modernization of existing platforms.

• Support technology decision-making and evaluate appropriate platform and infrastructure components.

• Collaborate closely with cloud, security, data, and software teams.

• Foster and maintain long-term customer relationships while aiding in presales efforts.

• Share knowledge actively within the team and with clients.

• Develop contemporary cloud-native and developer platforms.

• Provide advice on architecture and technology matters while implementing scalable Kubernetes solutions in enterprise settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience, a degree, or vocational training in IT.

• Several years of experience in Kubernetes, cloud-native, and platform engineering environments.

• Experience in designing, building, and operating Kubernetes platforms.

• Strong understanding of container technologies, Linux, and automation.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.

• Proficient in German (minimum C1 level).

• Good command of English (minimum B2 level).

• Ideally, experience with AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, Rancher, or VKS.

• Ideally, familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation, especially vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS).

• Ideally, knowledge of GitOps, DevSecOps, and observability practices.

• Ideally, experience in multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud, or private-cloud environments.

• Ideally, expertise in Terraform, Argo CD, Flux, or similar technologies.

• Ideally, relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, CKS, or cloud certifications.

• Ideally, experience in conducting workshops and technical consulting projects.
