Senior Java Web Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Become part of an established team of web developers dedicated to delivering full-stack web applications that meet operational needs.

• Document and verify the requirements for web applications.

• Create automated tests that correspond with established test plans.

• Provide support for architectural design and development to meet web application requirements.

• Engage in software design discussions and suggest appropriate tools, technologies, and methodologies.

• Assist in refactoring and modernizing existing web applications to enhance features, reliability, and performance.

• Ensure adherence to software security standards by evaluating the cybersecurity status of web applications.

• Design, construct, test, and sustain web applications that offer capabilities for the Department of Defense's test and training communities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance.

• A Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience is required.

• Relevant experience may be accepted in place of degree requirements.

• At least 6 years of experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack web applications and software systems.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in identifying and validating software application requirements.

• 8+ years of experience with web UI components, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (NodeJS), and Angular.

• At least 4 years of proven experience in designing and building RESTful web services.

• 6+ years of experience with Java EE/Jakarta EE integration, Servlets, and JDBC.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or equivalent and SQL queries is essential.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Java EE (such as Streams and Lambda expressions), Collections framework, and Exception handling.
