Senior Java Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services using Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks.

• Create scalable, reliable, and well-tested services that integrate with Salesforce and other platforms.

• Engage in architectural and design conversations regarding APIs, data flows, and distributed systems.

• Produce maintainable code with robust unit and integration testing coverage.

• Diagnose intricate issues across services, integrations, and data pipelines.

• Contribute to the development of internal web applications and user interfaces powered by Java services.

• Collaborate with frontend and full-stack engineers on internal tools.

• Work alongside Product and UX teams to transform workflows into internal tools.

• Construct and support Java-Salesforce integrations utilizing REST APIs, events, or middleware.

• Participate in Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and configuration tasks.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and cross-functional teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Engage in sprint planning, estimation, delivery, code reviews, CI/CD processes, testing, observability, documentation, and runbook creation.

• Ensure services are efficient, observable, and resilient.

• Identify technical debt and recommend practical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional software engineering experience with Java.

• Significant experience in building backend services within a production environment.

• Proficient in developing APIs and integrating services with other systems.

• Understanding of distributed systems, data flows, and service-to-service communication.

• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently on complex systems.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Preferred: experience with internal web UIs or tooling, Java-based web frameworks, React, Angular, Salesforce, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Salesforce APIs, event-driven architectures like Kafka, AWS, highly available or regulated systems, AI model or agent platforms, AI-driven coding assistants, and innovative developer productivity tools.

• Salesforce certifications are advantageous, but not mandatory.
