Senior Java Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and sustain high-quality software solutions for intricate distributed business applications.

• Participate in technical design decisions and assist in advancing the architecture of our software platforms.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code in accordance with modern software engineering best practices.

• Develop secure, resilient, and high-performance services with a strong emphasis on reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence.

• Enhance application performance, resource utilization, and system responsiveness.

• Create robust APIs and connect distributed systems using contemporary communication patterns.

• Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews, documentation, and continuous enhancement.

• Work closely with Product Owners, architects, QA engineers, and international development teams throughout the software lifecycle.

• Guide less-experienced developers by sharing knowledge, advocating for best practices, and contributing to technical excellence.

• Keep abreast of new technologies and proactively identify opportunities to enhance our products and development processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proficient in Java (Java 21/25 or newer).

• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and the Spring ecosystem.

• Extensive background in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

• Profound understanding of distributed systems and microservice architectures.

• Solid grasp of JPA/Hibernate and relational databases; experience with NoSQL databases is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and clean architecture principles.

• Experience in designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and maintainable enterprise applications.

• Strong comprehension of concurrency, asynchronous processing, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Experience with automated testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).

• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.

• Proficient in English and German, both written and spoken.
