Senior Java Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and implement scalable and dependable software solutions utilizing core Java, Kafka, caching, and various modern technologies.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented code.

• Engage in code reviews and collaborate with colleagues to uphold high standards of code quality.

• Identify and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.

• Acquire new technologies and transition between technology stacks with ease.

• Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

• Assist in developing, driving, and executing implementation within an engineering team for WEX Transaction Systems platform applications.

• Contribute to cloud-native solutions for card swipe authorization and transaction processing on WEX's fuel card platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Solid software development experience, particularly in creating and managing cloud-based infrastructure as code.

• Strong grasp of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, and effective problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing caching solutions (Redis or Valkey) within cloud-based, high-throughput systems.

• Proficiency with Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes for deployment.

• Familiarity with event streaming platforms like Kafka.

• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.

• Knowledge of logging, metrics, and tracing tools such as Grafana and Splunk.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a collaborative approach.
