Senior Java Developer – AI-Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create system architectures and service designs for software that is high-performance, scalable, and dependable.

• Transform intricate and unclear requirements into well-defined, robust, and scalable technical designs.

• Manage the complete delivery process of complex features and modules, from design to implementation and production.

• Utilize modern coding agents and specification-driven development within an AI-native engineering setting.

• Modify or develop solutions by leveraging AI tools.

• Design and execute intricate algorithms.

• Offer technical guidance, influence technical decisions, mentor colleagues, and enhance engineering standards.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address complex software challenges.

• Investigate, assess, and integrate new technologies, tools, and engineering methodologies.

• Develop cloud-edge software, automation, and optimization applications for cellular network operators using the client's Edgewise platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 6 years of experience in software development with Java.

• Strong capabilities in system architecture and design.

• Demonstrated experience in designing scalable, distributed systems with an understanding of the underlying infrastructure.

• Ability to convert complex requirements into scalable technical designs.

• Experience in designing and implementing complex algorithms and software architectures.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.

• Experience in developing large-scale data applications and advanced SQL querying.

• Practical experience using AI coding tools like Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI agents.

• Capability to adapt and create solutions utilizing AI coding tools.

• Potential for technical leadership, initiative, ownership, and a drive for technical innovation.

• A strong desire to learn and embrace new technologies and methodologies.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level or above.

• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, Linux, cloud platforms, SQL/NoSQL databases, Vertica, large-scale data processing, network automation, and AI-assisted development workflows.

• Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Software Architect, or in a similar senior technical position is a plus.

• Experience in building optimization and analytics modules is a plus.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

• Experience with infrastructure design and Infrastructure-as-Code is a plus.

• Knowledge of Clean Code, SOLID principles, and high software engineering practices is a plus.

• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks is a plus.

• Experience with NoSQL and relational databases is a plus.

• Experience with Vertica or other column-oriented databases is a plus.

• Experience with Linux and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Experience with Spec-Driven Development and designing AI-enabled development workflows is a significant advantage.
