Senior Java Developer – AI Gateway

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide technical guidance in the advancement of Sensedia AI Gateway

• Act as a technical resource for the development team

• Design, develop, and enhance the control plane using Java/Spring Boot

• Convert management operations into Kubernetes resources (CRDs) to set up the data plane

• Improve routing to LLM providers with failover functionalities

• Create guardrail policies, which include Prompt Guard, Prompt Enrichment, and Rate Limiting

• Present enterprise APIs as MCP Servers

• Oversee AI Agents, scopes, and credentials

• Collaborate with architects, team leaders, Product Managers, and cross-functional groups

• Engage in technical analysis, trade-off evaluations, technical explorations, and proofs of concept

• Improve integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Azure, Bedrock, and open-source models

• Develop authentication and authorization processes utilizing OAuth, JWT/JWKS, scopes, and Keycloak

• Implement resilience, OpenTelemetry-based observability, security, governance, and operational excellence

• Assist in code reviews, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement

• Advocate for best practices in development, architecture, testing, observability, and operations

• Investigate issues and continuously maintain and enhance the platform, with a focus on quality, stability, and scalability

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience as a senior developer working with digital products, cloud-native platforms, or distributed systems

• Proficient experience with Java (recent versions) and Spring Boot for creating REST APIs and backend services

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, including operators, CRDs, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and workload lifecycle management

• Familiarity with distributed architectures, microservices, REST APIs, control plane/data plane architectures, and hexagonal architecture

• Solid understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger, contract design, versioning, and API lifecycle management

• Experience with OAuth 2.0 (client credentials), JWT, JWKS, and scope modeling

• Knowledge of generative and agentic AI, LLM APIs, prompt engineering, guardrails, MCP, and A2A

• Understanding of scalability, resilience, security, and observability

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and conducting code reviews

• Capability to convert product requirements into sustainable technical solutions

• Experience in collaborating with product, architecture, and engineering teams

• Ability to engage in POCs and evaluate technical risks

• Excellent technical communication skills
