Senior IT Program/Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive project management for the array of DOC IT projects, ensuring consistency with business objectives and goals.

• Establish project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with vendors and stakeholders.

• Create, sustain, and manage intricate project plans and schedules utilizing approved project management tools.

• Identify, evaluate, track, and alleviate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle; maintain RAID logs.

• Ensure optimal resource allocation and oversee team workloads effectively.

• Partner with IT leadership, business units, technical teams, and external vendors.

• Manage stakeholder expectations and deliver project communications, including status updates, reports, presentations, and briefings.

• Facilitate the resolution of stakeholder conflicts, project issues, and competing priorities; offer recommendations for project decision-making.

• Guide cross-functional teams of project managers, business analysts, software developers, business owners, and subject-matter experts.

• Administer vendor relationships and coordinate vendor activities for project deliverables.

• Liaise with State personnel regarding contract modifications, deliverables, issues, and other contractual matters.

• Ensure vendor outputs conform to contract specifications and project timelines.

• Maintain project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and project plans.

• Provide routine updates on progress, risks, and changes to senior Program Managers and leadership.

• Utilize MS Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint, to craft leadership reports and presentations.

• Deliver data management, PRISM/OMS replacement, and DOC IT integration capabilities throughout the entire project lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in managing large, intricate IT projects, ideally within a large-scale enterprise setting.

• Experience in managing projects through the procurement/RFP process and COTS solution implementations.

• Proven experience in managing software development initiatives utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.

• Capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects within a broader program or portfolio.

• Experience in navigating projects within a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

• Skilled in managing internal and external project teams and stakeholders.

• Proven track record in vendor management and accountability.

• Experience in identifying, assessing, and alleviating project risks and issues, including maintaining RAID logs.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex IT projects on time and within budget.

• Experience with projects related to cloud computing, software development, IT infrastructure, and/or cybersecurity.

• Experience managing projects in a corrections or public safety context.

• Comprehensive understanding of IT systems, SDLC, enterprise technology landscapes, and IT infrastructure.

• Familiarity with cloud environments and service models, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, such as Azure and AWS.

• Experience in technology lifecycle management.

• Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools like MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

• PMP or an equivalent project management certification.
