Senior Issue Management Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the consistent intake, classification, tracking, and reporting of issues arising from regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance testing, risk assessments, and self-identification by the business.

• Collaborate with issue owners, first-line risk and business unit management, and second- and third-line risk functions to track issue records from intake through validation.

• Maintain procedures, standards, templates, job aids, and guidance for issue management.

• Work alongside Business Risk Leaders and business unit leadership to implement issue management standards and ensure timely updates to issue records.

• Offer guidance on Archer workflows and the expectations for documentation.

• Support training and awareness initiatives for the Issue Management Program.

• Apply and challenge the classification, severity, root cause, source, and risk-rating criteria for issues.

• Oversee the timely closure of issues and corrective actions, ensuring documentation meets sustainability and validation requirements.

• Ensure accurate and complete data is maintained in Archer.

• Assist in the development and upkeep of Archer and Power BI dashboards, reporting logic, data feeds, and report templates.

• Monitor aging and overdue items, extension requests, and missed milestones.

• Facilitate the escalation of delayed, systemic, regulatory, or high-risk issues through governance routines.

• Prepare status reports on issues, trend analyses, and governance reports for senior leadership and risk committees.

• Collaborate with Archer administrators and technology teams on workflow enhancements, data-field modifications, reporting requirements, user acceptance testing, and defect resolution.

• Take ownership of tasks and challenges faced while fulfilling the responsibilities of the assigned role.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Arts or Science in Finance/Accounting, Business, or a related field is required.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in Risk Management and/or Internal Audit within the banking sector is preferred.

• Previous management and/or supervisory experience overseeing risk management programs is essential.

• A strong understanding of enterprise issue management lifecycle practices is necessary.

• Experience in issue intake, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and closure validation is crucial.

• Ability to provide credible challenges while fostering productive relationships with stakeholders.

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Capability to convey complex ideas clearly to executive, technical, and operational audiences.

• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to turn ambiguous issues into actionable plans.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, including products and services.

• Strong organizational skills or experience in project management is preferred.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with mid to senior-level management, internal clients, peers, and auditors.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Governance Risk and Control (GRC) applications is a plus.

• Ability to communicate via in-person meetings, phone calls, and electronic channels.

• Capacity to frequently use a computer, including typing and maintaining focus on a monitor.

• Ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods; capability to bend and reach as needed.
