Business Process Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess business requirements and outline business processes.

• Convert requirements into functional specifications to guide development.

• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes using BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and automation opportunities utilizing Appian.

• Transform business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Assist Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarification of requirements.

• Develop test cases and scenarios, and support system and user acceptance testing.

• Ensure that solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Align business processes and integration points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to clarify and reach consensus on functional and technical requirements.

• Create process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides in governed document repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• At least a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance, or the capability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong grasp of business process modeling (BPMN) and process improvement methodologies.

• Experience in Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects.

• Proficient in creating clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments is essential.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features, including process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for backlog management.

• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering secure, high-quality solutions.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
