Business Process Analyst, Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess business requirements and map out business processes

• Convert requirements into functional specifications to guide development

• Facilitate user interaction with PeopleSoft data and workflows via Appian interfaces

• Conduct sessions to gather requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts

• Analyze and document business processes in accordance with BPMN standards

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation using Appian

• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces

• Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarification of requirements

• Develop test cases and scenarios, and assist with system and user acceptance testing

• Ensure that solutions fulfill business expectations and adhere to organizational standards

• Align business processes and integration points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows

• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to achieve clarity and consensus on requirements

• Create process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical documentation in governed repositories

• Travel required up to 10%

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later

• U.S. Citizenship required

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one

• Strong knowledge of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement

• Experience in Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects

• Capability to produce clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments

• Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management experience

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred

• Familiarity with Appian process models, interfaces, records, and data types

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus

• Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog management tools

• Attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering secure, high-quality solutions

• Must reside in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, or New Jersey
