Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate business requirements, design business processes, and convert those requirements into functional specifications.

• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Assess and document business processes utilizing BPMN standards.

• Detect process inefficiencies, identify gaps, and explore automation possibilities using Appian.

• Convert business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Aid Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarification of requirements.

• Develop test cases and scenarios, and support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Ensure that solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Analyze and verify process and integration alignment with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to ensure clarity and consensus around requirements.

• Create process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides stored in governed document repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher.

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Must have a minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret-level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong comprehension of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience in projects involving Appian or other BPM/low-code platforms.

• Capability to produce clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

• Background in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features such as process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Proficient in using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog management tools.

• Attention to detail with an emphasis on secure, high-quality solutions.

• Residents of AL, CA, CT, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, NC, OR, RI, SC, TX, VA, DC, WV, or NJ preferred.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
