Senior Interior Design Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Concept Design and Schematic Design stages for corporate workplace initiatives.

• Create concept designs, mood boards, space-planning alternatives, and material palettes that align with the client’s brand identity, workplace strategy, and budget considerations.

• Develop schematic design packages that include floor plans, elevations, 3D visualizations, and detailed sketches.

• Present design concepts to C-suite executives and senior management clients while managing feedback processes.

• Supervise external specialist consultants, including MEP, lighting, acoustic, and AV experts.

• Collaborate with Project Management and Cost Management teams on feasibility, value engineering, and budget targets.

• Assist with construction by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.

• Support design-focused proposals, preliminary concept sketches, and mood boards for pitches.

• Foster client relationships and position JLL as a design-oriented partner.

• Ensure adherence to JLL design standards, Chinese building codes, fire regulations, and ESG/sustainability objectives.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related area.

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in interior design.

• At least 3–5 years dedicated to corporate workplace or commercial office projects.

• Demonstrated experience leading projects from inception to completion within the China market.

• Expertise in AutoCAD, SketchUp or Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

• Proficiency in creating engaging 3D renderings using Enscape, V-Ray, or Lumion is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of interior construction techniques, materials, finishes, and local Chinese regulatory requirements.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

• Capability to convey complex design concepts to non-design stakeholders effectively.

• Understanding of project timelines, budgeting, and cost control principles.

• Ability to mentor junior designers and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.

• Designs must comply with JLL global design standards, local Chinese building codes, fire regulations, and ESG/sustainability goals (LEED/WELL).
