Senior Insurance AI Solutions Consultant

📋 Description

• Assist practices in addressing client demands for AI transformation capabilities

• Engage in opportunity shaping, diagnostic workshops, proposal creation, and AI use case development initiatives

• Convert client priorities, target operating models, and workflow challenges into AI transformation roadmaps, use case portfolios, and implementation strategies

• Link AI use cases to quantifiable business value, adoption prerequisites, and scalable execution

• Analyze current-state insurance workflows, decision-making processes, handoffs, controls, data flows, expert reasoning patterns, and challenges

• Redesign target workflows to incorporate AI-enabled delivery, automation, expert judgment, human oversight, governance, auditability, and change management

• Gather and organize expert knowledge into AI-ready resources, including reasoning workflows, mental maps, process documentation, prompt patterns, knowledge bases, evaluation criteria, and agentic workflow specifications

• Collaborate in the design of practical AI-enabled solutions alongside business experts, AI engineers, and product owners

• Provide guidance to clients and internal teams regarding enterprise AI tool ecosystems, generative AI tools, knowledge assistants, agentic workflow platforms, document intelligence, evaluation methods, and responsible AI controls

• Specify requirements, success metrics, validation methods, adoption considerations, and handoff materials for prototypes, MVPs, and scalable implementations

• Work together with practice leaders, domain experts, AI engineers, and AI architects

• Contribute to the growth and scaling of Milliman AI Solutions’ business engagement and engineering capabilities


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman, now or in the future

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Business, Finance, Insurance, or a similar quantitative or business discipline

• 6–8 years of pertinent professional experience in insurance, actuarial consulting, business transformation, operations, data management, technology-enabled consulting, or related areas

• Experience in supporting business development, proposal writing, client workshops, solution scoping, or developing transformation roadmaps

• Strong knowledge of insurance workflows across actuarial, underwriting, claims, reporting, compliance, risk, or related functions

• Capability to map business processes, organize expert knowledge, identify improvement opportunities, and translate vague business challenges into actionable solution requirements

• Ability to collaborate with domain experts, AI engineers, and technology teams on requirements, prototype development, evaluation, architectural considerations, security constraints, deployment options, and production readiness gaps

• Practical knowledge of enterprise AI tools across chat, coding, active agents, workflow automation, document intelligence, data analysis, and prototyping environments

• Proficiency with LLMs, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge assistants, agentic workflows, evaluation methodologies, human-in-the-loop design, and responsible AI principles

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Entrepreneurial mindset, structured problem-solving skills, and commercial awareness
