Senior Implementation Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a designated portfolio of simultaneous customer implementations, ensuring awareness of stage, forecast, milestones, risks, dependencies, and forthcoming decisions.

• Personally manage the project for the largest or most intricate strategic account implementation plans.

• Transform approved scope and functional workplans into cohesive project plans that include milestones, ownership, dependencies, decision dates, stage gates, and acceptance criteria.

• Establish and monitor critical paths.

• Conduct implementation governance, which includes kickoffs, workstream reviews, status updates, risk and decision evaluations, readiness gates, and executive steering committees.

• Set baselines and adjust forecasts when there are changes in scope, assumptions, dependencies, or capacity.

• Take ownership of change control and evaluate the impacts on schedule, resources, and launch.

• Identify risks and implement mitigation or recovery strategies.

• Monitor customer, vendor, and internal dependencies until resolved.

• Escalate issues with supporting evidence, options, recommendations, and deadlines for decisions.

• Lead client communications specific to implementation while collaborating with the Customer Success Manager (CSM) on wider relationship and commercial contexts.

• Organize User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, defect triage, retesting, and sign-off tracking.

• Ensure launch readiness and manage the required technical, operational, clinical, and customer evidence and approvals.

• Facilitate discussions on evidence-based go/no-go decisions.

• Coordinate the launch, stabilization, closure, and transition to Customer Success and Support.

• Highlight shared-resource conflicts and demands to the Director, along with sequencing options and recommendations.

• Keep the project-management system updated as the authoritative source of information.

• Recognize recurring portfolio challenges and suggest enhancements to PMO playbooks, stage gates, and templates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in project or program management in B2B software, healthcare technology, platforms, or technology-enabled services.

• Direct ownership of project management for external customer implementations from post-sale handoff through to launch.

• Experience in managing multiple simultaneous implementations or a genuinely complex, multi-workstream strategic account.

• Strong background in integrated planning, critical-path management, RAID management, change control, and delivery forecasting.

• Experience in leading client project governance and executive steering committees.

• Familiarity with coordinating UAT, defect triage, launch readiness, cutover, and stabilization.

• Project management-level proficiency in APIs, integrations, data flows, identity management, environments, security reviews, and testing dependencies.

• Experience collaborating with dedicated implementation engineers, technical consultants, or solution architects without taking over their roles.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive-level communication.

• Strong data discipline in project management and portfolio reporting systems.

• Preferred: Background in healthcare, digital health, virtual care, or another regulated industry.

• Preferred: Experience with EMR or clinical workflow implementations.

• Preferred: Experience in coordinating pharmacy, lab, clinician network, credentialing, licensing, or multi-state operational dependencies.

• Preferred: Experience in a professional services or client delivery setting with a clear distinction between project managers and technical implementers.

• Preferred: Experience working within tiered delivery models.

• Preferred: PMP, PgMP, or equivalent training.
