Senior Healthcare Interface Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Design and execute healthcare integration solutions that connect applications, data sources, EHR systems, claims systems, public health systems, and external collaborators.

• Develop and set up MLLP gateways, Apache NiFi processing pipelines, Open Integration Engine adapters, and healthcare interfaces that support complex data feeds.

• Create and maintain bidirectional Clinical Health Information Exchange and partner exchange integrations.

• Assess current systems, interfaces, data flows, and integration needs to craft dependable, secure, and scalable interoperability solutions.

• Conduct data mapping, transformation, routing, interface configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and provide production support.

• Address intricate interface and data-flow challenges.

• Work in conjunction with architects, FHIR engineers, application developers, testers, onboarding teams, and external partners.

• Ensure that integrations satisfy functional, technical, security, and performance standards.

• Offer technical guidance on complex integration projects.

• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as required to assist team goals and project accomplishments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of relevant professional experience.

• In-depth experience with healthcare interoperability, enterprise application integration, and healthcare interface development.

• Solid expertise with HL7 v2, MLLP, healthcare interface engines, data transformation, and message routing.

• Familiarity with Apache NiFi, Open Integration Engine, EHR integration, and complex healthcare data flows.

• Strong analytical and debugging abilities to troubleshoot complex interface and data-flow issues.

• Exceptional communication and collaborative skills with the capability to work independently and provide technical leadership on intricate integration projects.

• Proficient in Java, scripting, XML, JSON, SQL, APIs, and enterprise integration technologies.

• Experience in integrating claims data, public health data, Clinical Health Information Exchange systems, and external healthcare partners.

• Background in FHIR-based integrations and collaboration with FHIR engineering teams.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• All selected candidates must successfully undergo a background check.

• Capability to obtain and retain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting, when required for the role.
