Senior Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish mission requirements for Guidance, Navigation, and Control while ensuring the quality, traceability, and verification of these requirements.

• Oversee design reviews, conduct analyses, run simulations, and carry out component/system testing.

• Create and enhance intricate nonlinear six-degrees-of-freedom simulation models utilizing multidisciplinary data.

• Design, develop, integrate, and test vehicle models, controllers, and software using programming languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, Python, and others.

• Formulate guidance and flight control laws employing contemporary linear control methodologies.

• Execute advanced nonlinear analyses for control law designs.

• Validate models against empirical test data.

• Create additional controllers, limiters, mode logic, redundancy management systems, and signal shaping techniques.

• Collaborate with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems software engineers to integrate control laws into the operational flight program.

• Define, analyze, and sustain air data sensor processing alongside redundancy management.

• Lead or engage in DO-178B/C software verification tasks.

• Coordinate strategies for managing contingencies in autonomous air vehicles and implement the necessary software.

• Assist with desktop, software, and real-time flight simulations.

• Support hardware-in-the-loop development and testing initiatives.

• Aid in planning and executing flight tests.

• Provide training and mentorship to others.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications directly related to the job description.

• A minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineering.

• Familiarity or experience with Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) or other PID control design.

• Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX/Systembuild for modeling and simulating complex aerospace systems.

• U.S. Person status is mandatory for compliance with U.S. export control regulations.

• Must pass the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
