Senior Golang Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design and develop financial services using Go, encompassing payments, disbursements, ledger management, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Take full ownership of core service components from conception and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.

• Collaborate with external financial partners, including banks, card processors, ACH/RTP networks, credit bureaus, and KYC/KYB vendors.

• Manage retries, partial failures, webhook sequencing, settlement files, partner downtimes, and funds movement.

• Create automated reconciliation processes and exception handling to ensure that discrepancies are identified, clarified, and resolved by operators.

• Enhance reliability through the implementation of automated testing, resilience strategies, and data integrity.

• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot services on AWS utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code practices.

• Produce design documentation, incident reports, and pull request descriptions.

• Collaborate within a small, cross-functional team responsible for managing its systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building and maintaining backend services in a production environment.

• Extensive recent experience with Go, including its concurrency model, error management conventions, and common challenges.

• Direct involvement with financial or transactional systems such as payments, ledgers, banking, lending, billing, or trading.

• Strong proficiency in correctness patterns: idempotency keys, exactly-once effects in at-least-once delivery, optimistic concurrency, outbox/inbox patterns, sagas or compensating transactions, and immutable audit trails.

• Excellent skills in relational modeling and SQL (PostgreSQL), including understanding isolation levels, locking, transaction boundaries, and safe migrations on live tables.

• Experience managing services on AWS and utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.

• Solid grasp of financial transactions: integer minor units, rounding, and multi-currency handling.

• Familiarity with regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GLBA, FCRA) or working alongside external auditors.

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS, or similar) and their challenges regarding ordering and duplication.

• Background in credit reporting, rent reporting, lending, or consumer fintech.
