Senior Go Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and develop efficient, scalable backend services utilizing Go.

• Create and maintain architectures based on microservices.

• Develop and improve command-line interface (CLI) applications for terminal environments.

• Design and implement APIs using Protocol Buffers and GraphQL to facilitate effective inter-service communication.

• Integrate with Claude to achieve necessary objectives.

• Actively engage in feature design discussions with team members and make well-informed decisions.

• Adhere to feature rollout protocols to ensure a secure deployment process.

• Generate Grafana dashboards and alerts for monitoring deployed features.

• Enhance existing codebases to boost performance and reliability.

• Establish systems for load balancing, fault tolerance, and scalability.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to connect backend services with frontend applications and CLI tools.

• Develop comprehensive error handling, logging, and monitoring solutions.

• Engage in code reviews and promote best practices and coding standards.

• Diagnose and address complex technical challenges in production settings.

• Clearly communicate working hours and availability.

• Represent Mondoo at community events when preferred.

• Contribute directly to the Mondoo Platform, including its policy engine, resources, scalability, and multi-region capabilities.

• Create software that assists teams in assessing, scoping, prioritizing, triaging, and remediating security issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in backend development with Go.

• In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience in creating command-line interface (CLI) applications.

• Proficient in Protocol Buffers and GraphQL API design and implementation.

• Experience with SQL databases.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven fluency in English.

• Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts and effectively participate in the feature design process.

• Preferred: experience with event-driven architectures.

• Preferred: knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.

• Preferred: experience with gRPC.

• Preferred: contributions to open-source Go projects.

• Preferred: experience in cross-platform development for CLI applications.

• Preferred: previous involvement in or leading RFC processes.

• Must reside in Bulgaria or Germany and possess the right to work there.

• Generally available for video calls between 4 and 7 PM EET.
