Senior Global Field Application Scientist – Liquid Handling and Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the subject matter expert in application and liquid handling for customer evaluations, implementations, workflow optimization, and adoption at CellXpress.ai.

• Develop, test, optimize, document, and troubleshoot liquid handling scripts and automated workflows, focusing on Hamilton liquid handling systems.

• Convert customer cell culture protocols, laboratory processes, and acceptance criteria into dependable, repeatable, and scalable workflows for CellXpress.ai.

• Assist in pre-sales technical discovery, workflow assessments, feasibility evaluations, product demonstrations, customer presentations, installations, training, and post-installation enhancements.

• Identify and resolve issues related to applications, scripting, workflows, labware, consumables, software, and hardware.

• Facilitate escalation with service, software, engineering, and product teams as required.

• Create and uphold workflow maps, scripting records, method specifications, training materials, troubleshooting guides, and customer handover documentation.

• Provide approximately 80% support to North American clients and commercial teams, and 20% support to global customers, partners, and internal teams.

• Travel an estimated 50-70% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.

• At least 5 years of application experience in laboratory automation, automated liquid handling, cell culture automation, or related life science instrumentation.

• Practical experience with automated liquid handling method development, scripting, testing, optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Required experience with Hamilton platforms.

• Proven ability to translate manual laboratory protocols into automated application workflows, including workflow mapping, labware/consumable selection, and documentation of acceptance criteria.

• Must be located in North America.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50-70%, including overnight and international trips.
