Senior Gameplay Networking Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, architecture, and execution of networking systems for a multiplayer PvP game.

• Create and sustain client-server replication, lag compensation, matchmaking, and prediction systems.

• Work closely with gameplay engineers and designers to ensure networking aligns with gameplay and mechanics.

• Enhance network performance and resolve issues related to latency, synchronization, and stability.

• Establish networking standards, best practices, and documentation for the engineering team.

• Guide junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to the team's technical development.

• Assist in early production by helping to establish scalable multiplayer architecture.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in multiplayer networking for games, particularly PvP or online titles.

• Strong expertise in Unreal Engine networking, encompassing both C++ and Blueprints.

• In-depth knowledge of client-server architecture, replication, lag compensation, and prediction.

• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture design and implement effective networking solutions.

• Experience in optimizing networking for fast-paced action games.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across different disciplines.

• High proficiency in English communication.

• Preferred: experience in shipping competitive or online multiplayer games.

• Preferred: familiarity with cross-platform networking (PC, console, Steam Deck).

• Preferred: understanding of network security and anti-cheat measures.

• Preferred: experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering standards.

• Experience with Unreal Engine (C++, Blueprints).

• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
