This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru, +3 more countries.
• Oversee frontend architecture decisions and modernization efforts across various JavaScript framework stacks.
• Create scalable UI solutions and integrate them with Java/Spring Boot APIs.
• Promote best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD automation processes.
• Collaborate effectively across teams, including backend, DevOps, and product management.
• Guide mid-level engineers and advocate for engineering excellence.
• Develop testing strategies utilizing Playwright and Jest.
• Ensure performance optimization and monitoring through Datadog.
• Spearhead the phased migration from legacy systems to a modern frontend architecture.
• Integrate user feedback and real-world retail workflows to enhance UI functionalities.
• Revamp legacy enterprise retail and supply chain platforms into scalable, maintainable, and performance-centric applications.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 6 years of experience in Fullstack/Frontend Engineering.
• More than 5 years of practical experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular, or Vue).
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, including complex type modeling and scalable architecture design patterns.
• Experience in designing and maintaining shared component libraries and design systems.
• Familiarity with Java/Spring Boot backend services and Postgres-backed REST APIs, sufficient for end-to-end integration and troubleshooting.
• Strong grasp of phased modernization strategies for legacy backend systems.
• Extensive experience with Playwright (end-to-end testing) and Jest (unit testing).
• Proven experience in managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Experience in implementing monitoring and observability strategies with Datadog.
• Background in retail, store operations, or supply chain systems is a significant advantage.
• Comfortable interacting with stakeholders and incorporating real-world user feedback.
• Bonus: Experience in frontend development for Android and/or iOS.
• Excellent communication skills in English (C1 preferred; strong B2 may be considered).
• Must reside in and have work authorization for Latin America.
• Must have significant overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
