Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, Authoring Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide and mentor engineering teams while delivering high-impact products and scalable infrastructure.

• Establish the technical vision for product and infrastructure scalability.

• Take responsibility for the architecture and implementation strategy for essential platform services from conception to large-scale deployment and migration.

• Define technical standards for designing, publishing, and maintaining APIs that serve customers.

• Manage API security, reliability, and the overall developer experience.

• Integrate platform services for customer-facing applications and delineate clear service boundaries.

• Collaborate with data platform teams regarding access patterns.

• Lead the creation of RFCs and decision records to document architectural choices.

• Enhance team review capabilities and collaborate with the Engineering Manager to promote team health and culture.

• Develop backend systems utilizing TypeScript and Node.js.

• Contribute to customer-facing experiences using React.

• Leverage AI tools to streamline development processes and workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in backend development, creating reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.

• Experience in designing and launching external or public product APIs, including handling contracts, versioning, authentication, and developer experience.

• Proficiency in systems and service-boundary design, with a strong understanding of data layers.

• Comfortable working within a modern React frontend codebase.

• Proven track record of successfully driving complex, ambiguous, and multi-quarter initiatives to completion, both independently and through collaboration.

• Experience safely rolling out or deprecating major systems at scale.

• Exceptional written design communication skills and a demonstrated ability to mentor others.

• Willingness to responsibly utilize AI to enhance efficiency and impact.

• Must reside in and conduct all work exclusively from within the United States, accessing systems solely from U.S. locations.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
