Senior Fullstack Engineer, React/Kotlin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable applications for customers utilizing React and TypeScript.

• Create and enhance dependable backend services and APIs through Kotlin.

• Contribute to mobile experiences using React Native as necessary.

• Take ownership of features and technical projects from problem identification and design through to development, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Create experiences that enhance merchant and offer discovery, decision-making in purchases, and checkout processes.

• Convert complex or unclear product requirements into precise technical solutions and incremental delivery strategies.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering teams across various technical areas.

• Design systems with considerations for scalability, availability, performance, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Implement automated testing, observability, performance tracking, and secure deployment methods.

• Diagnose production issues and engage in on-call duties.

• Clearly communicate technical decisions, dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and progress in deliveries to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Engage in design and code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, mentor others, and continuously enhance engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional experience in software engineering, including the development and management of customer-facing products in production.

• Advanced proficiency in creating modern web applications using React and TypeScript.

• Strong grasp of frontend component architecture, state management, automated testing, performance optimization, and accessibility.

• Professional background in designing and developing backend services with Kotlin.

• Experience in designing APIs, data models, asynchronous workflows, and service-to-service integrations.

• Familiarity with React Native and the methodologies for delivering uniform mobile experiences.

• Experience in designing service-oriented or distributed systems with an emphasis on scalability, availability, low latency, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Proficient in automated testing, observability, production debugging, and progressive deployment techniques.

• Experience supporting and managing production systems, including involvement in on-call rotations.

• Proven ability to assume responsibility for initiatives throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with distributed, cross-functional teams.

• Capability to work efficiently with stakeholders and clients based in the US.

• Strong product-oriented mindset, connecting technical choices to customer experiences and measurable business results.

• Ability to manage ambiguity, assess technical trade-offs, and translate broad requirements into actionable solutions.

• Experience with Python.

• Familiarity with experimentation or A/B testing platforms.

• Experience in developing high-traffic e-commerce, marketplace, shopping, or fintech applications.

• Experience working with systems involving offers, promotions, payments, or transaction workflows.

• Experience mentoring engineers and enhancing engineering standards within a team.
