Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of features across the React frontend, Node.js service layer, and PostgreSQL data model.

• Design and implement application functionalities that encompass the React frontend, Spring Boot backend, and PostgreSQL schema.

• Create React components and interfaces based on Figma mockups provided by the design team.

• Design and enhance the PostgreSQL data model, which includes writing SQL and executing schema migrations.

• Develop and maintain the REST API layer that connects the frontend with Spring Boot services.

• Create and sustain supporting Node.js services and ensure their integration with the Spring Boot backend.

• Write unit tests for new and modified code as part of the standard development process.

• Deploy and configure application components on Google Cloud Platform, which includes runtime services, managed databases, and object storage.

• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines that cover build, test, and deployment processes for both Java and Node.js components.

• Engage in working sessions with the engagement team and customer stakeholders to clarify requirements and technical strategies.

• Generate technical documentation that outlines architecture, API contracts, and the data model.

• Collaborate closely with the Engagement Lead, Program Manager, and customer stakeholders from the initial definition phase through to final delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience in delivering production web applications.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Proficiency in backend development using Java with Spring Boot, including REST API design, Spring Data JPA or a similar persistence layer, and Spring Security.

• Experience with frontend development in React, including state management and backend API integration.

• Working knowledge of Node.js for developing and maintaining supporting services, including REST API design and familiarity with a common framework (Express, Fastify, or NestJS).

• Capability to transform Figma mockups into production-ready React components.

• Expertise in relational data modeling with PostgreSQL, including writing SQL queries, joins, and schema migrations.

• Experience in writing unit tests and maintaining test coverage as part of the development process, utilizing tools such as JUnit and Mockito for Java.

• Knowledge in deploying and operating applications on Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage.

• Proficient with Git-based version control and pull request workflows.

• Familiarity with TypeScript for both frontend and Node.js services.

• Experience with build tooling for Java projects, such as Maven or Gradle.

• Knowledge of containerization using Docker.

• Experience in configuring CI/CD pipelines, including Cloud Build or GitHub Actions.

• Understanding of infrastructure as code principles using Terraform.

• Google Cloud certification, either as an Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Developer.

• Experience in integration and end-to-end testing beyond the unit level.
