Senior Full Stack Java Engineer – Workforce Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop dependable solutions for forecasting, staffing, scheduling, real-time adherence, intraday management, and operational reporting within telecom and contact center settings.

• Architect, create, test, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and domain-driven design methodologies.

• Construct microservices for forecasting, staffing calculations, schedule generation, shift management, adherence, exceptions, and operational reporting.

• Create dynamic workforce applications using TypeScript and React.

• Design and utilize REST APIs following an API-first methodology.

• Establish and uphold OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and versioning standards.

• Implement event-driven workflows for schedule modifications, agent states, queue metrics, forecasts, and adherence events.

• Connect WFM functionalities with CX platforms, ACD and routing systems, HR platforms, payroll, identity services, and enterprise data systems.

• Model workforce and operational data within PostgreSQL and other relational databases.

• Containerize services and participate in cloud-native deployment strategies, configuration management, and maintaining environment consistency.

• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines, incorporating Jenkins, automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment procedures.

• Diagnose production issues and enhance application performance, batch processing, concurrency, scalability, and reliability.

• Engage in code reviews, technical design sessions, architecture discussions, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with Product, Operations Research, QA, DevOps, UX, and other stakeholders to transform requirements into actionable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in full-stack software development, including ownership of production applications.

• Strong hands-on proficiency with Java and Spring technologies, especially Spring Boot, REST services, security, and persistence.

• Solid frontend development experience using Angular or React, TypeScript, component-based design, state management, and contemporary testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Node.js for integrations, lightweight services, build tools, or supporting components.

• Hands-on experience with NICE WFM, Verint, Calabrio, Genesys WFM, Aspect/Alvaria, or similar workforce solutions.

• Experience with AWS services and Amazon Connect is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience designing REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven services in distributed environments.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience crafting efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to generate clear technical documentation and lead client-facing workshops.

• Experience integrating WFM with ACD, routing, HR, payroll, CRM, or data warehouse platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies is advantageous.

• Exposure to workforce analytics, optimization techniques, or operational research concepts is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Jenkins, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices is a plus.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot, is a plus.
