Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and recognized software engineering methodologies.

• Create modern web applications with React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive layouts, and accessible interaction patterns.

• Develop and utilize REST APIs following an API-first approach.

• Maintain clear OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and address error handling.

• Craft modular and maintainable solutions employing microservices alongside object-oriented and event-driven design patterns.

• Utilize Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL data models and queries, focusing on integrity, performance, and auditing history.

• Design and implement integrations with both internal and external systems through REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and other integration methodologies.

• Containerize applications and contribute to cloud deployment patterns, configuration management, and environmental consistency.

• Build and sustain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployments.

• Instrument applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Troubleshoot functional as well as production issues.

• Enhance application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and fellow engineers through design sessions, code reviews, planning, and ongoing improvement.

• Oversee features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of comprehensive full-stack software development experience, including ownership of production applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring technologies, particularly Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Solid frontend development experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and contemporary testing practices.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tooling, or supporting components.

• Proven experience in designing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications in distributed settings.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in designing efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience with the development, deployment, or support of cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and lead client-facing workshops.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices.

• Experience with Workforce Management (WFM) applications or integration with WFM platforms is a plus.

• Experience with AWS services and Amazon Connect is advantageous.

• Experience in building applications for CX solutions, contact centers, or customer service environments is a plus.

• Knowledge of forecasting, scheduling, adherence, routing, agent desktop, digital channels, or related operational concepts is a plus.

• Experience integrating applications with CRM, identity, HR, payroll, analytics, or other enterprise systems is beneficial.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot, is a bonus.
