Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, create, test, and uphold scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and recognized software engineering methodologies.

• Develop contemporary web applications with React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive designs, and accessible interaction patterns.

• Create and utilize REST APIs through an API-first methodology; ensure clear OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and effective error handling.

• Construct modular, maintainable solutions employing microservices alongside suitable object-oriented and domain-driven design patterns.

• Leverage Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools when necessary.

• Design and enhance PostgreSQL data models and queries focusing on integrity, performance, and audit history.

• Design and execute integrations with both internal and external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and other relevant integration methods.

• Containerize applications and engage in cloud-based deployment methodologies, configuration management, and environmental consistency.

• Establish and maintain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Equip applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Diagnose functional and production challenges, enhancing application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and fellow engineers through design sessions, code evaluations, planning, and ongoing enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of full-stack software development experience, including ownership of production-level applications.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring technologies, particularly Spring Boot, REST services, data persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Solid frontend development expertise with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and current testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tools, or supporting components.

• Demonstrated ability in designing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications within distributed systems.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in crafting efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Exceptional communication skills, including the capacity to create clear technical documentation and facilitate client-facing workshops.

• Experience in developing Workforce Management (WFM) applications or integrating with WFM platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with AWS services and Amazon Connect is advantageous.

• Experience in building applications for CX solutions, contact centers, or customer service settings, including voice infrastructure or integrations utilizing FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar communication platforms is desirable.

• Knowledge of forecasting, scheduling, adherence, routing, agent desktop, digital channels, or related operational concepts is beneficial.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies is a plus.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices is a plus.

• Experience integrating applications with CRM, identity, HR, payroll, analytics, or other enterprise systems is advantageous.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot, is a plus.
